REPOLEN® pipes and fittings for external
use are made of Polyethylene. They are odourless, tasteless and nontoxic,
wich makes them suitable for conveying water for domestic use and other supply
type uses.
They are light so can be easily transported and stored and can bear temperatures
of down to -20ºC without being affected.
Their smooth internal finish (mirrorfinish polishing) prevents incrustations
forming and so REPOLEN® pipes and fittings present a much lower load loss
than other materials. They are also resistant to inorganic acids (hydrochloric,
sulphuric), alkalis, detergents, tension depressants, mineral acids and food
and fermentation products.
REPOLEN® pipes are flexible, which speeds up installation (they bend when
cold) so they can be adapted to the irregularities of ground and walls.
Resistance to radistions
REPOLEN® pipes and fittings are resistant to solar radiation. UV rays do not
pass through the material owing to its smoky black colour. Its long life has
been tested and calculated to be 50 years at an average temperature of 20ºC
without suffering any deterioration.
Resistance to organic agents
No case has been reported of PE pipes suffering any damage from rodents, termites
nor micro-organisms. They are resistant to any kind of microbial corrosion
(bacteria, mosses and spores do not proliferate on their surfase)
Healthiness of the REPOLEN® system
The materials used comply with the European standards 90/128, 92/39 y 93/9/EEC
on sanitary plastics. They also comply with European and U.S. standards on
supply and sanitary installations. In addition, they fulfill the German KTW
Recommendations for drinking water installations. Fresenius Institute has
shown that the Polyethylene pipes are suitable for conveying mineral water
with no alteration to their qualities.
